The Habitat ReStore is open to the public!  400 New London Road, Salem, CT (in the Salem Country Garden Plaza) Store days and hours are: Thursday/Friday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Sunday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Now we are making it easier than ever for volunteers to sign up to work on a Habitat site.  It can all be done online through Volunteer UP!

New Volunteers are still required to sign up for a Foundations of Habitat session, held the 2^nd Saturday of every month.   You can do this through Volunteer UP. Click the "Get Involved Foundations of Habitat " button on the top of the screen for instructions.

Volunteers, who have already attended the orientation session, can register online for a volunteer day.  Click on "Volunteers " in the green panel on the left of the screen, then click "Site volunteers".  

Groups of six or more must contact the office for information on volunteering at or 860-442-7890 press 3.

Habitat for Humanity of Southeastern Connecticut (HFHSECT) is a local unit of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit interdenominational Christian housing organization. HFHSECT exists for the sole purpose of providing simple, decent, affordable homes in partnership with low-income families in need throughout New London County.

Our goal is to make a ‘forever’ difference in the lives of others, to help them fulfill their dream of homeownership, and to eliminate sub-standard housing in Southeastern Connecticut.

Since 1987, HFHSECT has completed 36 houses throughout New London County. This has been achieved in partnership with our Habitat families, who contribute at least 400 hours of “sweat equity” to Habitat in order to be eligible to buy their own home which HFHSECT sells to them at cost, with a no interest mortgage. Habitat homes are built through the dedication of the many volunteers who share their time and talents for construction and related activities and through the financial contributions of the many caring individuals, faith based organizations, businesses and civic groups who are our neighbors in this community.
