Habitat Family Opportunities

 Becoming A Habitat Family
Applications are accepted twice a year during the open application periods, currently scheduled to be held during Spring and Fall. Habitat for Humanity of Southeastern Connecticut will schedule applicant orientations open to the public and advertise the time and dates through the newspaper and radio. Attendance at an applicant orientation will be necessary to obtain an application.

 Feeling At Home

One wonderful aspect of Habitat for Humanity is that it builds more than houses—it builds homes, lives and community. We hope this information answers some of your questions about becoming a Habitat family.

The family selection process is impartial. Habitat does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, sexual orientation, age, handicap, religion, national origin, marital status, familial status, or because a family’s income is derived wholly or in part from public assistance programs. We look forward to building new homes and lives with our partner families.

The Habitat staff is here to answer your questions. We will try to help even if the Habitat Program is not the right fit for your family.
